How It Works

Entering a Durham Dales Giveaways competition takes a couple of minutes:

1. Pick your competition. Browse the live draws on our Competitions page.

2. Choose your tickets. Select how many entries you’d like and pick your ticket numbers.

3. Answer the question. Every competition includes a skill-based question. Get it right and your entry goes into the draw. Get it wrong and your entry won’t be included, so take your time.

4. Checkout. Pay securely by card. Your ticket numbers are confirmed by email straight away.

5. The draw. Every competition closes on the advertised date and the winner is drawn on schedule, whether all tickets have sold or not. Winners are drawn at random from all valid entries, announced on our social channels, and published on our Draw Results page.

If you win, we’ll contact you directly using the details on your order. Prizes are delivered to you, and where a cash alternative is offered it will say so on the competition page.

Free Postal Entry

Every competition can be entered for free by post. Postal entries are treated exactly the same as paid entries, same draw, same chance of winning.

To enter by post, send an unenclosed postcard by first or second class post to:

This is a dedicated PO box used for the free postal route. We are based in Teesdale but use this service to protect our address from the public register.

Include all of the following:

• The name of the competition you’re entering
• Your answer to the competition question
• Your full name, date of birth, email address, phone number and postal address

One postcard per entry. Each card must be posted separately. Entries must arrive before the competition closes, we recommend allowing at least 3 working days for delivery. Postal entries received after the closing date, or missing any of the details above, can’t be entered into the draw.

You must be 18 or over and the details on your postcard must match the person entering.

Responsible Play

Our competitions are meant to be fun. A few pounds on a chance to win something great, never more than you can comfortably afford.

You must be 18 or over to enter. We may ask winners to verify their age and identity before a prize is released.

Set your own limits. Decide what you’re happy to spend each month and stick to it. We cap credit card spending at £250 per calendar month across our competitions.

Self-exclusion. If you’d like us to close your account or block you from entering for a period, email hello@durhamdalesgiveaways.co.uk with the subject “Self-exclusion” and we’ll action it within two working days, no questions asked.

FAQs

Is this gambling?
No. Our competitions are prize competitions with a skill-based question and a free entry route, operated in line with UK law. They don’t require a gambling licence.

When do draws happen?
On the date and time shown on each competition page. Draws go ahead on schedule regardless of ticket sales.

How do I know it’s fair?
Winners are drawn at random from all valid entries, results are published on our Draw Results page, and every prize is purchased before a competition opens.

What happens if I answer the question wrong?
Your entry won’t go into the draw. The question is there because our competitions are skill-based, so choose carefully.

Can I get a refund?
Entries are non-refundable once the question has been answered and the order placed, except where required by law or set out in our Terms & Conditions.

How will I know if I’ve won?
We’ll contact you using the details on your order, and winners are announced on our social channels and Winners page. Make sure your email and phone number are correct at checkout.
